Dorrance Rouge 2020, 100% Cinsault, Western Cape, South Africa, 13.5%

Another brilliant value wine from South Africa's Dorrance, who also supply us this Chenin Blanc. This is a beautifully aromatic, soft and elegant expression of Cinsault, originally a French grape. Violets on the nose, bright fruit on the palate, and smooth tannins. Lovely.

Pairing: Cinsault famously goes well with escargot but if snails aren’t on your meal plan this week you could try a lighter meat, maybe some venison, pork or even rabbit.
